My lovely home is a great place to spend inauguration week!
Since I will not be in town, I am renting out my spacious, beautiful and newly renovated ~680 SQF condo (Newton Street NW) -- just a stone's throw from the action on capitol hill, and just about everywhere else. You can walk to the national mall (just over 2 miles) or take the Columbia Heights green-line metro (3 blocks away) or S1, S2, S3 buses on 16th street (100 yards away). Also a 15 minute stroll over to Adams Morgan night-life or 25 minute walk to Dupont Circle.
If you are a DC novice, I will also offer you all my (free, via email since I'll be out of town) services as a tour guide and advisor on places to go / eat / see, as well as a guaranteed ride from the airport to my place when you arrive, if needed. If you will have a car, I can get you a 1-week parking pass for street parking in zone 1 (immediate neighborhood); on-street parking is fairly easy to find close to the building, and is safe.
The condo: It's really a great place, I love it -- exposed brick walls and hardwood floors, international artwork, large bathroom featuring Jacuzzi tub and a built in flat-screen TV; living room featuring large, wall mounted flat screen (with Comcast) TV in living room; open kitchen with marble breakfast bar, central heating, washer / dryer in unit, and wireless internet set up for your use.
Conditions: This is my little palace (not a hotel) so I expect it to be treated with basic care. I prefer no small children, no pets, and no more than 3 people to stay here during the week (the leather couch offers a comfortable night's sleep, and there is queen bed that easily accommodates two).
